Born at Nottingham and lived at 33 Lucknow Street, Nottingham. Husband of Lydia Muir. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, aged 34, in the attack on the German positions near Beaumont Hamel, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
