Born at Eccleshall, Staffordshire. Husband of Emily Mossop. He enlisted at Smethwick, Staffordshire. He served in British East Africa with the South Staffordshire Regiment prior to being transferred to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He went to France and died of wounds 16th September 1917.
