Born at West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire and lived at 31 Bruce Grove, West Bridgford. Son of John Jones Morris and Emily Powell Morris, of 76, Stratford Road, West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire. He was a lace finisher clerk prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He joined the 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, in France 19th June 1917. He was severely wounded after midnight on the night of the 12/13th September whilst in the line at Shrewsbury Forest, near Ypres. He died of wounds 23rd September 1917, age 22.
