Battalion: 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire and lived at Mansfield. He was a hairdresser prior to enlisting at Bolsover, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 39, whilst serving in the line near Givenchy, France.

Buried: Le Touret Military Cemetery, Richebourg-L’avoue, France. Plot 3, Row H, Grave 19.
