Born at St. Anne’s Nottingham and lived at 19, Nugent Street, Nottingham. Son of Dominick and Florence Moran of 17, Nugent Street, Nottingham. He was a barman prior to enlisting on 6th September 1916 at Nottingham. He went to France on 18th March 1916 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 20, during the attack on Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
