Battalion : 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

He was born in Lewisham, London and lived in Haywards Heath, Sussex. At the age of 14 he was employed as a Chemists Errand Boy but when he joined the army he was a Grocers Assistant. In 1911 he married Hetty Day and by the time of his death they had 3 children. His wife died within 12 months of his death. He enlisted at Grove Park, Kent and died of wounds. 18th October 1917 aged 34.
