Born at Derby and lived at Crewton, Derbyshire. Husband of Emma Mills of 56, Coburg Street, Crewton. He was a wheel turner at a railway and carriage works prior to enlisting at Derby. He was killed in action 23rd February 1918, during German shelling of the line near Langemarck, Belgium.
