He lived at 19, Lamont Place, Aberdeen, Scotland. Son of Mrs. Mary Middleton, of 37, Holland Street, Aberdeen. He was a stone cutter prior to enlisting 27th February 1915 at Aberdeen. He was transferred to the 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, and went to France 11th January 1917. He died of wounds 20th October 1917, age 25.
