Son of William and Agnes Merriman, of The Ash, Town Street, Sandiacre. One of four brothers who served in the Great War with the Sherwood Foresters. The others were Private J Merriman, Private Samuel Merriman and Corporal E. Merriman.

Died : 23rd August 1919, age 20.

Buried: Sandiacre (St. Giles) Churchyard and Extension, United Kingdom. At South-West corner of Church.
