Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of William and Harriet Mason, of 48, Cornhill Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham. He was a town carter prior to enlisting 27th August 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France 3rd May 1915 and was killed in action, 9th August 1915, at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
