Son of Mr and Mrs John Mannix, of Princess Street, Fermoy; Husband of Mary Mannix, of Chapel Hill, Fermoy, Co. Cork. He went to France on 8th September 1914 and was killed in action on 20th October 1914, aged 24, when the battalion held position south-east of Bois Grenier, Ennetieres/Escobecques, France against a German attack.
