Born at Nottingham and lived at 1, Orby Terrace, Woodhouse Street, Nottingham. Son of George Henry and Frances Maddock, of 92, Woodborough Road, Nottingham. Husband of Louisa Maddock, of 1 Orby Terrace, Woodhouse Street. He was a house painter prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, in the attack on the German potions north-west of Thiepval, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
