Born at Upper Broughton, Nottinghamshire. Son of Ephraim and Ann Lynes, of Sherbrook Road, Daybrook, Nottinghamshire. Husband of Harriet Lynes, of 64, Highbury Avenue, Bulwell, Nottinghamshire. Was a lace warehouseman. Enlisted at Derby. Was killed in action in the Battle of the Menin Road at Polygon Wood, near Ypres, Belgium.

Died : 24th September 1917, aged 34.
