Born at Daybrook, Nottingham and lived at 2, Malt Cottages, Basford, Nottingham. Son of Robert and Emma Lovegrove, of Eland Street, Nottingham. Husband of Emma Susan Lovegrove, of 2, Malt Cottages, Basford. He was a carter prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 20th July 1916, aged 40, near Mindern Post, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
