Born at Nottingham and lived at 4, Snowton Terrace, Spring Close, Old Lenton, Nottingham. Son of Teresa Lindley; Husband of Selina Eleanor Lindley. He was a goods checker for Midland Railway Company prior to enlisting 2nd September 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France 18th March 1915 and was killed in action, 27th October 1916, aged 40, whilst in the line near Trones Wood, France during the Battle of the Somme.
