Born in Nottingham and lived at 26, Cross Street, Nottingham. Son of Thomas and Mary Lennox; Husband of Florence Chester (formerly Lennox), of 45, Cross Street, Nottingham. He was a plasterer prior to enlisting at Nottingham. Went to France 29th August 1915 and was killed in action, 15th August 1916, age 35, whilst working on the trenches between Trones and Bernafay Woods, France, during the Battle of the Somme
