Born at Nottingham and lived at 4, Curzon Avenue, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, 7th October 1916, in the attack on the Schwaben Redoubt during the Battle of the Somme.

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
