Born at Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. Son of John Henry and Mary Ann Lee, of 11, Levertons Row, Hankin Street, Hucknall. Was a colliery pony driver prior to enlisting at Hucknall. Went to France 27th December 1914 and was killed in action during the battle of Neuve Chapelle, 13th March 1915, age 20.
