Born and lived at 15, City Terrace, Carlton Hill, Nottingham. Son of Daniel and Sarah Ann Leadbeater, of 24, Lincoln Street, Nottingham. Husband of Mary Elizabeth Leadbeater, of 73, Foxhill Road, Carlton, Nottingham. He was a town labourer prior to enlisting 1st May 1915 at Nottingham. He went to France 6th March 1916 and was transferred to the 181st Tunnelling Company, Royal Engineers, 20th March 1916. He was attached to the 255th Company Royal Engineers, 8th April 1916 and died from concussion 5th August 1917.
