Born at Bramcote, Nottinghamshire. Husband of Amy Langham, of 4, Victoria Street, Stapleford, Nottinghamshire. He was an iron foundry man prior to enlisting at Nottingham on 26th May 1915. He went to France on 6th March 1916 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, age 45, whilst serving in the line at Ferm Du Bois, France.
