Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of Harry and Emma Lane, of Redhill, Arnold, Nottingham. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France 28th June 1915 and died from the effects of a gas attack 27th May 1917, near Lievin, France.
