Born and lived at Newton, Nottinghamshire. Son of John and Mary Kirkham, of East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire. Was a farm labourer. Enlisted at Carlton, Nottinghamshire, 14th April 1913. Went to France 2nd March 1915. Died of wounds 14th August 1915, age 20.
