Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Whittington, Derbyshire. Son of George and Ellen Kirk. He lived on Main Road, Blidworth, Nottinghamshire and enlisted at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He went to France 14th July 1915 and was killed in action, 14th February 1916, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
