Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of George and Harriett King, of 8, Monsall Street, New Basford, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 24, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
