Born at Smalley, Derbyshire. Son of Anthony Kerry, of the Rose and Crown, Smalley. He was a police constable at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France 28th February 1915 and was killed in action, 1st June 1915, whilst serving in the line at Kemmel, Belgium.
