Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of Thomas and Alice Holland, (formerly Kent) of 19, Cambridge Street, Radford, Nottinghamshire. He was leather dresser prior to enlisting 25th January 1915. He went to France 28th June 1915 and was admitted to 19th Casualty Clearing Station, Beauval, France, suffering from illness. He was transferred to No. 16. General Hospital Le Treport, France and was diagnosed with nephritis, due to field operations. He died 11th August 1916, aged 21.
