Lance Corporal Albert Keeling

Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Loughborough, Leicestershire and lived at Sandiacre, Derbyshire. Brother of John Keeling, of 9, Rutland Grove, Sandiacre. He was a brass finisher prior to enlisting on 29th April 1904 at Nottingham. He served in India from 15th February 1907 to 31st March 1911. He was appointed Lance Corporal on 19th February 1910. He went to France on 8th September 1914 and was killed in action on 20th September 1914, when the battalion was ordered to retake trenches taken by the Germans at the head of the Troyon Valley, France, during the Battle of the Aisne.
