Born at Chesterfield. Derbyshire. Son of Mr and Mrs Tom Jones and lived at Vicar Lane Chesterfield. husband of Maria Jones of 20 Warwick Street, Birdholme, Chesterfield. He was Colliery Prop Setter at Grassmoor Colliery prior to enlisting at Chesterfield in 1914. He went to France on 18th March 1915 and died of wounds to his head, 7th November 1915, aged 38.
