Born at Nottinghamshire and lived at 3 Queens Head Yard, Huthwaite. Son of Robert William and Harriett Johnson, of 19, Nuttall Street, Alfreton, Derbyshire. He enlisted at Alfreton, Derbyshire and was killed in action, 24th August 1916, aged 19, during a raid on the German line near Bellacourt, France.
