Son of Thomas Hyde, of Pool, Hartshorne; Husband of Leah Betteridge (Formerly Hyde), of Bagnall Cottages, Hartshorne, Burton-On-Trent.

Killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 25, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
