Battalion : 1/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Arnold, Nottinghamshire. Son of John and Mary Hyde, of 7, Cottage Row, Daybrook, Arnold, Nottingham. Was a farmer at Heath Sunrise Farm, Bestwood, Nottingham prior to enlisting 15th August 1914 at Newark, Nottinghamshire He went to France 2nd March 1915 and was killed in action 6th April 1915, aged 18, by being shot in the head by a German sniper, whilst serving in the trenches at Kemmel, Belgium.
