Born at Radcliffe, Lancashire and lived at Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire. Son of Jane Hutchinson, of 15, Bingswood Avenue, Whaley Bridge. Son of Charles and Jane Hutchinson. He was a textile worker prior to enlisting at Buxton, Derbyshire. He went to France 17th August 1915 and died of wounds 4th February 1916, aged 25.
