Lived at 55 Sutherland Road, Derby. Husband of Sarah Ann Lovegrove (formerly Humber), of 304, Brighton Road., Alvaston, Derby. He was a coach painter prior to enlisting 14th October 1914. He went to France 1st March 1915 and was killed in action, 26th June 1915, aged 42, by a German shell whilst repairing dugouts at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
