British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Burton Joyce, Nottingham. Son of Frederick and Winifred Hucknall, of 11, Woodside Villas, Main Street, Burton Joyce, Nottingham. He was a blouse warehouseman prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He served in Gallipoli with the 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, during 1915. He was transferred to the 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and was killed in action, 18th October 1916, aged 20., by a German shell whilst serving in the line near Martinsart Wood, during the Battle of the Somme.
