Private Tom Howarth

Battalion : 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Sherton, Lancashire and lived at Carlton, Nottingham. Son of Mary and stepson of Thomas Pierpoint of 24, Gladstone Street, Carlton, Nottingham. He was a Timber Carrier in the furniture trade prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 10th October 1916, during the attack on the Schwaben Redoubt, near Thiepval, France during the Battle of the Somme.
