Born at Derby. Husband of Ada Houldsworth, of 41 Kedlestone Road, Derby. He was a yarn dyer prior to enlisting at Derby 26th May 1915. He went to France 6th March 1916 and was killed in action, 10th April 1917, whilst serving in the trenches at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
