Son of George S. and Francis Horton;, of 159, Drewry Lane, Derby. Husband of Gertrude L. Horton, of 1, Keys Street, Nottingham Road, Derby. He was a printers compositor prior to enlisting 3rd December 1915 at Derby. He went to France 13th January 1917 and suffered shrapnel wounds to his head 8th March 1917. He died of these wounds, 14th March 1917, aged 37, at at No. 20 Casualty Clearing Station, Warlincourt, France.
