Battalion : 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Noah and Margaret Hopewell, of Old Basford, Nottingham; husband of Gladys Eleanor Hopewell, of West Brook, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He went to France 14th July 1915 and was killed in action on the Somme, 3rd September 1916, age 33.
