Born at Nottingham and lived at 76, Lamcote Grove, Nottingham. Husband of Annie Holmes, of 70, St. Stephens Road, Sneinton, Nottingham. He was a hosiery machine builder prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France 28th February 1915 and was drowned 26th June 1917, aged 35, whilst on active service.
