Born at Ollerton, Nottinghamshire and lived at Bramcote Terrace, Radford, Nottingham. Son of Thomas and Sarah Holmes, of 15, Garfield Road, Old Radford, Nottingham. He enlisted at Sunderland and died of wounds 6th October 1916, aged 18.
