Son of Mr. and Mrs. Holmes, of Longton; Husband of Elizabeth Holmes, of 59 Villiers Street, Dresden, Longton, Stoke-On-Trent.
Killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 24, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
