Battalion: 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Frodsham, Cheshire and lived at The Bungalow, Hasland Road, Hasland, Derbyshire. He was a wool packer at Robinson’s Mill, Derbyshire. prior to enlisting on 8th April 1908 at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He went to France on 28th February 1915 and was killed in action, 5th May 1915, whilst serving in the line at Kemmel, Belgium.

Buried: Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery, Belgium. Row E. Grave 35.
