Son of George Edward and Sarah Jane Hewson, of 4, Harrington Drive, Derby Road, Nottingham.; Husband of Geraldine Marie Hewson, of 3, Greys Road, Woodthorpe, Nottingham. He was a Draper’s Assistant prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 23rd April 1917, aged 31, whilst serving in the line near Cite de Riaumont, France.

His brother Private Albert Owen Hewson 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment also fell in the Great War.
