Born in Radford, Nottingham and lived at 32, Jackson Street, St Ann’s Nottingham. Son of William and Caroline Georgina May Henley, of 24. Raleigh Street, Nottingham. Husband of Louisa Fletcher (formerly Henley), of 6, Beverley Street, St. Ann’s Well Road, Nottingham. He was a railway labourer prior to enlisting on 2nd December 1902 at Nottingham. He went to France on 2nd October 1914 and was killed in action, on 22nd December 1914, aged 28, whilst in the line near Richebourg, France.
