Son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hemsley, of 10, Maitland Road, Woodthorpe Drive, Mapperley, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France 17th August 1915. He was killed in action, 2nd March 1917, aged 20, whilst serving in the line near Mazingarbe, France.
