Private Herbert Healey

Battalion : 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of George James and Sophia Healey, of 403, Chatsworth Road, Brampton, Chesterfield. He was a labourer prior to enlisting on 13th October 1914 at Chesterfield. He went to France on 28th February 1915 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 21, during the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
