Born and lived at 8 Cheviot Street, Lincoln, Lincolnshire. Son of Joseph and Annie Hayes, of Lincoln. Husband of Annie Hayes. He was a grocer prior to enlisting at Lincoln. He died of wounds 10th October 1916, aged 25.
