British 1914 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Nottingham. Son of Samuel Hawley, of 45A Boville Street, Radford, Nottingham. He was a lace hand prior to enlisting 21st July 1902 at Nottingham. He served in Hong Kong from 5th March 1904 to 6th December 1904 and the Strait Settlements, 7th December 1904 to 19th July 1911. He went to France 10th October 1914 and was killed in action, 12th March 1915, during the German counter-attack at Neuve Chapelle, France.
