British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn at Arnold, Nottinghamshire. Son of Samuel and Eliza Hartshorn, of 102, Furlong Avenue, Arnold, Nottinghamshire. Was a clerk at Messrs. I. & R. Morley, Hosiery Manufacturers, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France 18th August 1915. He was wounded in the head and both legs whilst occupying trenches on the Ypres salient. After 3 weeks in hospital in France, he was transported back to England and was admitted to Newcastle military hospital, where he died 20th November 1915, aged 20.
