Born and lived at Moymore, Ennistymon, County Clare, Ireland. Son of James and Jane Hartigan, of Moymore, Ennistymon, County Clare. He enlisted at Boyle, County Ross Common, Ireland and went to France 21st June 1915. He was killed in action, 26th April 1918, aged 26, whilst in the line near Vlamertinghe, Belgium.
